Dr. Ir. Michaël Peeters MRe (TU-Delft) is an assistant professor and researcher specializing in sustainable finance and smart building technologies, focusing on the link towards valuation. With a PhD in Engineering Management from the University of Antwerp and an engineering background in micro-electronics, his academic focus lies at the intersection of sustainability, technology, and finance. He is researching Sustainable finance, sustainability reporting, and links with AI, IoT, and WEB3 applications. Michaël is also experienced in econophysics and the “As A Service” business model’s impact on real estate investments.

Karmijn van den Berg (Policy advisor sustainability Municipality of Rotterdam)
Studied landscape architecture at Wageningen University followed by a career at the municipality of Rotterdam in different areas of sustainability. Being included in the first transition towards gas free for an existing neighborhood and coordinating the implementation of climate adaptation in urban areas. Observing a growing need for sustainable urban development she initiated the program Sustainable Urban Development and has been a program manager for the past 5 years. Karmijn developed a quickscan for sustainability in Rotterdam based developments and is involved as sustainability manager in large scale projects such as Rijnhaven.

Elise van Herwaarden (ESG Manager INREV, branche organisation for European real estate funds )
As ESG Manager at INREV, Elise van Herwaarden supports the European non-listed real estate investment industry in navigating the evolving sustainability landscape. From INREV’s Amsterdam headquarters, she works closely with members to clarify ESG best practices, develop ambitious sustainability targets, and adapt to regulatory developments like the EU Taxonomy. With a background in architecture, Elise combines strategic insight with practical solutions for sustainable real estate. Before joining INREV, she was Sustainability Manager at a.s.r. real estate and an ESG Strategy & Reporting consultant at Longevity Partners.

Dennis Franken  (Sustainability Advisor Stebru, developer-builder based in Rotterdam region)
Graduated at The Hague University of Applied Sciences, including a graduation trajectory with Stebru. Dennis is responsible for the sustainable transition of Stebru towards Paris Proof projects. Raising awaress by bridging the global context via EU taxonomy and other regulations and incentives towards implementing concrete actions and solutions into the projects and practices of the developer-builder.
