Feasibility Study for the Scheveningen Fish Auction
How do you transform an iconic and much-loved landmark into a future-proof innovation hub? And how can architecture strengthen the connection between the sea and the city?
Together with Kickstad, Stadkwadraat, Stec Groep and IGG Bouweconomie, GROUP A explored the feasibility of giving the Scheveningen Fish Auction Building a new future. The study investigates how Sjoerd Schamhart’s landmark building can continue to support the Blue Economy.
At GROUP A, architecture begins by connecting people, ideas and places. Through close collaboration with local entrepreneurs and the Municipality of The Hague, we developed a spatial strategy that creates room for collaboration, experimentation and growth—flexible and adaptable to the needs of future users.
The municipal council will consider the proposal after the summer. We hope this feasibility study will provide the foundation for the next step in transforming the Fish Auction Building into a future-proof environment for the Blue Economy.
