Start completion of unused stations of Antwerp premetro in 2025
The start of the completion of unused tunnel shafts of the Antwerp premetro has been announced in the Gazet van Antwerpen! The designs of the four unused premetro stations Drink, Morkhoven, Willibrordus and Stuivenberg are ready. With that, work can begin on the required permits. If everything goes smoothly, trams will finally run through the tunnel shafts and pre-metro stations that have been unused for more than 50 years, by early 2027.
We are proud of the pre-metro stations’ design that is the result of an inspiring collaboration in the Belgian-Dutch design team AGT (archipelago architects/GROUP A/TRACTEBEL).
