Quooker Distribution Center Now Operational
A special milestone: the opening of Quooker’s new distribution center in Ridderkerk.
Together with landscape architects De Urbanisten and interior architects Studio INA MATT, we at GROUP A worked closely with client Quooker and contractor Cordeel Nederland on a compact, future-proof and highly ambitious industrial complex in which logistics, production, architecture and landscape are fully integrated.
The new logistics center marks the first phase of a much larger development in which all of Quooker’s functions — production, logistics, offices, service and showroom — will eventually come together under one roof within a comfortable and green working environment.
With a fully automated 30-meter-high storage system, a compact stacked building concept and — in the upcoming phases — a distinctive silhouette inspired by industrial shed roofs, the complex establishes a strong identity within its surroundings. At the same time, the human scale remains central to the design: daylight, greenery and a pleasant working environment have been integrated from the very beginning.
We are also particularly proud of the use of biobased materials such as the hemp-lime plinth façade — an important part of the sustainable and forward-looking vision behind this project.
This is only the first step of a development that will continue to grow in the years ahead. Soon, we will share more about the design, the vision and the next phases of this remarkable development.
