Update from Bladel’s construction site

The transformation of the former Rabobank building at the Market into Bladel’s new social beating heart is nearing completion! Bladel’s Community Center will bring together more than 45 local associations under one roof and has a theater, central library and cafe. Bladel’s new meeting place called ‘Bruis’ will open its doors in May 2025!

Preserved channel work has been reinstalled, induction units have been reused and window frames have been relocated. The new roofscape opens up the building towards the market and allows daylight into the building’s heart. The newly added multifunctional theater carefully blends into the existing urban fabric. This addition stands out by its shape covered with slats creating a dynamic play while walking by.

The ‘connector’ is central to the Community Center’s design. This concept generates a natural flow from Bladel’s central market inside the building’s entrance area offering access to the cafe and the multifunctional theater space. The atrium’s tribune stairs guides you upstairs along the associations individual and collective spaces all the way up to the panorama deck with terrace overlooking the square and offering access to the library and bar.

The design is the result of the collaboration between GROUP A, Fabrique and ABT commissioned by the Municipality Bladel and Den Herd.
