Leeghwaterplein

beacon for renewed MegaStores

We are responsible for the design of the 75 meter high residential tower at the Leeghwaterplein. The residential tower marks the new main entrance of the renewed MegaStores and thus forms a beacon. The redesign of the MegaStores and the new main entrance has also been designed by us.

More Less

Perpendicular to the Leeghwaterplein a residential tower with up to 160 apartments of approx. 75 sqm each will be developed. The slender tower with its six angled facade surfaces, is perfectly oriented towards the sun. To maximise incoming light and views out, each floor consists of seven apartments around a central hallway.

The plinth and residential tower have been designed as a unit in which the complementary programs will reinforce each other. The residential tower marks the new main entrance and forms a beacon for the renewed MegaStores.

To optimize accessibility and quality the MegaStores will be thoroughly adjusted and expanded. By developing the corner lot Leeghwaterplein / Van der Kunstraat a new city entrance will be created to Laakhaven, which contributes to the new identity of the MegaStores.
